Senator Ahmed Markafi led PDP
has swung into action after securing victory over Senator Ali Modu Sheriff at the supreme court. He wasted no time to convene it’s first meeting.
The meeting which started at
about 9:00PM was well attended by key stakeholders of one time Africa’s
largest political party. In attendance was Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta
State, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom state, Ibrahim
Dankwambo of Gombe state, Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state and Dairus Ishaku of
Taraba state. Also in attendance was former President, Goodluck Jonathan, Deputy
Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, Senator David Mark, Ibrahim Mantu, Teslim
Folarin, Vincent Ogbulafor, Abdul Ningi, Abba Morro, FFK, Jonah Jang, Godswill
Akpabio, Gabriel Suswan, Mike Onolemen among others.

Jonathan, who like always arouse applause upon is arrival, encouraged leaders
of the party to put all energy in re-establishing the party structures which has
been battered by concluded leadership struggle.
Legitimate Party chairman Makarfi
was optimistic about the party chances in the next elections, saying , “Only a
miracle will stop the PDP from regaining power from the APC in 2019.
Outspoken Ekiti State governor, Mr. Fayose urged party
leaders to focus on the grassroots and mobilize their people ahead of the 2019
general elections. Fayose said: “APC will soon die for PDP to regain power. If
your brother is alive, you cannot inherit his property. He will need to die
before you can inherit his property. These people must go; I say they must go.
Now, the coast is clear. If this party bounces back, we need to regain the
confidence of Nigerians.”

Modu Sheriff, the sacked national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP), was absent at the party’s national caucus meeting held last night at
Party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
