Russia’s Supreme Court today, rejected the appeal from Jehovah witness and upheld the earlier ruling which declared the organisation “extremist” and ordered it to disband in Russia.
Speaking after the verdict Yaroslav Sivulskiy a member European Association of Jehovah Witness said “We plan to appeal this at the European Court of Human Rights as soon as we can,”
Sivulskiy said Jehovah Witnesses strongly disagrees with the court’s ruling against it, but had no option but to comply and since they (Jehovah Witness) has exhausted all other legal options in Russia, they'll seek help at European Court of Human Rights as soon as possible.
Just before the verdict, four former members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses had made statements to Russia’s Supreme Court that they were brainwashed by the organisation against starting a family or furthering their education.
