Curb Smuggling and wear what you Like: Saraki tells Hameed.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has come to say the Customs boss can wear jeans and T-shirt'.
If you recall sometime ago the Comptroller General was engrossed in a verbal fiasco with the Senate concerning him not donning the customs uniform.

The Senate President Bukola Saraki yesterday, in a deliberate attempt to fight smuggling which he says is a big threat to Nigeria Agriculture especially rice production, said that the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Hameed Ali can wear anything he wants if he brings results in the fight against smuggling activities on the countries borders.

Saraki made the remarks during the Senate's public hearing on "Smuggling - A threat to Nigeria’s quest to self sufficiency in rice production".

While addressing the Customs boss, the Senate President said, "Once you end smuggling, even if you want to wear jeans and T-shirt, I will personally move the motion to support you."

Retired Army Colonel now Customs Boss, Mr. Handed Ali,  in March refused to appear before the senate in his Customs uniform.
He said he would not wear the uniform of another agency after his time in the army.
He continued in his defence saying “Does uniform work or the person behind the uniform, He said what matters is that he's doing his job.

The Nigerian Senate had asked for his resignation because they were not happy with his continued to defiance  of the order to wear his uniform.
