The Glorious Fountain Ministries.

At the close of work after a tough day at the office, we decided to lounge with the movie Roots, before going to our respective homes. Kunta Kinte was paddling a canoe past a band of slaves that were working by the riverbank and when they saw him they started singing deep, rich, melodious and empathizing song. You can barely find a slave movie without music, because blacks in most slave movies used music as a vehicle for identity and expression, this left me wondering if this is not the major reason Black race have produced more superstars in music than any other race.
Music is powerful, it connects people, and it has the potentials to bridge cultural, linguistic and religious differences. Music has the capacity to generate a rich social-cultural and economic life in Warri. A vibrant music system can create jobs, economic growth, and help to develop tourism and strengthen the city’s brand. We’ve had people relocate from Warri to Lagos because there, they can through their music have a livelihood and pursue their dreams, this is to say, a strong music structure in Warri can attracts highly skilled young people to the city and increases the GDP of the city.

The city of Warri is gradually taking her rightful place as a stakeholder in the Nigeria music industry and only a few organisations in the city has played key role for this platform and, a pioneer in that light is a gospel band called Glorious Fountain led by Rev. Igho Yegbru. The Glorious Fountain Ministries is an interdenominational Ministry with a vision to reach people everywhere and make them worship God in Spirit and in Truth.

The Glorious Fountain Ministries is a foremost music organisation in the city and has been instrumental in the development of musical talents in the city. It has been a place of development and growth for young people with interest in music, helped discover and develop talents and created job opportunities in the city. It has taken a few youths from the streets and given them platforms to express themselves through music. With a mass choir of over fifty choristers, The Glorious Fountain Ministries has helped in channelling the energy of young people in Warri into developmental and productive activities, thereby reducing youth restiveness and idleness.

The Mission of GF as its popular called is to see souls saved, healed and delivered by the Power of God through music. This has been the motivation behind various kinds of ministrations. GF has used music to usher people into the presence of God where souls are refreshed, revived, healed, delivered and saved as they encounter Jesus Christ in worship. GF trust God to break the walls of division and unite us as one body in Christ.

The Glorious Fountain Ministries officially started June 15th, 1994. This ministry is about WORSHIP and of course, the worship of the one and only true God. The watchword for GF is from the book of Revelation 22:1.
